Coffee & Life Comprehensive Training

In our coffee journey, we have found that coffee and life share a lot of commonalities. Coffee is an inspirational teaching element for conversation about work, relationships and life. Life can be just like a cup of coffee, full of sweetness, acidity and bitterness!

Elements from; coffee growing origins, harvesting environments, numerous chemical changes during roasting and brewing, to life education such as; self-understanding, emotional control, character development and vocation discernment, can all be integrated through the coffee and life comprehensive training.

  • Class size: 4-8 students (aged 15-25)

  • Class length: 2 weeks (16-20 sessions) + 2 weeks internship

  • Incl. 3 SCA examinations & certifications : SCA Barista Foundation, SCA Brewing Foundation and SCA Sensory Foundation

  • Resilience training + life skill training through coffee skills simulation

  • Reflections through circle time and group learning

  • Students are required to attend an internship at the training cafe.

  • The curriculum can be customised for participants.

  • In this training, 3 SCA accredited courses are included, they are:

    • SCA Barista Foundation

    • SCA Brewing Foundation

    • SCA Sensory Foundation

    Understand how the methods and tools used to brew a good cup of coffee relate to how we can manage challenges in life!

  • Life education such as self-understanding, emotional control and resilience training can be customised into 6-8 sessions in this program.

    Through circle time and group learning, students will reconstruct their self-image, discover their developmental needs, explore their life issues and develop their styles of communication and coordination in order to face this sometimes complex and stressful world.

  • Students will be required to attend 30-50 hours practical learning and internship at the Training Cafe in a real business workplace for students to combine theory and practice. Internship with professional supervision will provide them with consolidated working experience and we believe our graduates will develop confidently and grow responsibly not just for themselves but for each other and the community.
